Playsuits & Jumpsuits
The last time I wore a jumpsuit in public was in the late 80′s. I clearly remember that glorious Contempo Casuals beauty: boxy fit, red with a yellow/orange/purple ditzy print, flat brass buttons along center front, armholes cut way to low. I loved it and so did my sisters, back then we didn’t mind the saggy bottom, dump-in-the-trunk look. Below are a few play-jumpsuits I wouldn’t mind owning, I love the illusion of a complete outfit.

Loving the colors and the mad-scientist vibe of Iori Tomita’s series of perserved animals called “New World Transparent Specimens”. NeoRave colors expose intense details. Photos from here.

I was having difficulty getting to sleep the other night, which is totally not my deal. Typically, as soon as my head hits the pillow I am OUT! until my husband waves a cup of coffee under my nose the next morning. So on this evening of no sleeping I hopped on the computer to get some work done. Per usu(al) personal email, work email, FB, Twitter, blogs I stalk are checked even before Illustrator is opened…during my IN-TER-NET-ING (robot voice) I stumbled upon the site of Loretta Lux. I was searching for cute/girls dresses/vintage (I can fit into kids clothes and many times girls dresses fit me a little better then grown folk clothes.) Loretta Lux is a fine art photographer and painter, she digitally enhances her photos creating hauntingly sweet images. I enjoy the spookiness and delicate nature of her works. The expressions on these pretty angels look like they plan on haunting you in your sleep. P.S. The clothes on these little ladies are on my wish/make list.

Dang Mr.Lim! I lurrrve these looks. The colorways and mix of print and textures are screaming my name…
Quick peek of the happenings last weekend:
Our weekend was filled with many small steps moving very fast! Barricade building, concrete smashing, workshop attending & revelations
We (he) built barricades using planks from the fence we took down last summer.

We removed the sidewalk in front of the house. The concrete was not level and was busted by the huge Catalpa roots that pushed against the sidewalk. My job was to locate and expose the python sized roots.
A friend and I attend a workshop hosted by I Heart Art PDX at the Museum of Contemporary Craft. The charming Rachel did a great job. Check out her affordable and nifty bike accessories: BikeCozy

…is slowly transforming. Inspiration and objects I wish for.

I am not the fanciest clad gurl in town. My daily uniform consists of jeans, hoodies, cardigans, multiple layers of tops (I freeze at 70 degrees), tall boots or high top sneaks. To sass up my American Apparelish uniform I add vintage scarves, random bracelets and lip gloss, yes lip gloss. I wanted add some neck flair to my uniform but couldn’t go out and buy the ones I really wanted. What’s a girl to do? Get ta makin’… Below are some designer pieces that caught my eye…and below that are the pieces I made using components from necklaces I already owned, fancy yarn, feathers and a swatch of leather from a thrifted jacket.
