Holiday Crafting
I flirted with the idea of taking the Handmade Pledge this year, but I knew I would not have been able to keep true to the promise. I can say I did make about 85% of the gifts we are giving out this year. It has been like Santa’s workshop around here. Lots of “cute”going on:
Teeth (pattern by Teresa Levy available in Softies), trees, pin cushions, and a dreidel inspired by Heidi Kenney’s super cute plush.
Gingerbread Man (template found on-line)
I am a bit burnt out from all the holiday happiness. I have one more gift to make and I wanted to do something completely different from what I have been sewing for the past 3 weeks. I have been very inspired by layers, textures, textiles, embroidery, quilts, and cross-stitch. It is safe to say this last gift is not “cute”. Completely organic, no pattern, no sketch. Yikes, it’s kind of exciting! Here’s peek…I think I want to make one for myself now
